# Connect a form and receive submissions

Connect a form, test submissions, and check that responses reach your inbox or connected tool.

## Set up your form

1. Open the page’s form settings and choose an existing compatible form, or create a standalone embed.
2. Review every field, its type, and its options. A native connection must match the fields on that page version.
3. Choose inbox-only receipt or configure an authorized HTTPS delivery destination.
4. Save the connection, review the page, and publish the intended version before accepting public submissions.

## Check form receipt and delivery

An inbox-only test checks that Waveform can save the response. To test an external destination too, choose that delivery option. Test responses are marked.

Received means the submission was saved in Waveform. Delivered means your connected tool accepted it. Check that tool for any later steps, such as sending an email.

## Update connections after changing fields

A native connection belongs to the exact page revision it was reviewed against. When fields change, resync and review the connection for the new revision. Editing a draft does not change the form used by the current publication.

Open the inbox to review delivery history or retry a failed delivery. Keep destination credentials private; do not paste them into generated page source or a brief.
