# Create a landing page

Write a brief, choose an original design, and build your page or site.

## Choose what to build

Waveform creates a unique design from your brief without using templates. Ask for a landing page, a standalone page, or a complete website. Describe what you offer, who will visit, and what they should be able to do.

For a complete site, include the pages you need. Waveform starts with the homepage and builds related pages with a shared design. You can start from an idea or include an existing website.

## Write your brief

Tell Waveform what the page is for, who should read it, and what you want them to do. Include the facts that must appear, such as an offer, location, contact details, or event date.

If you supply a website, use the page most relevant to your request. Waveform can use its content and branding as a starting point. Check the research and brand details before relying on them.

**A useful brief**

Create a landing page for a weekend pottery workshop. It is for beginners, costs $85, and includes materials. The main action is to request a place. Keep the date and address exactly as supplied in my notes.

## Compare the designs

Designs arrive in the Design view. Compare the available directions and review the recommendation. The recommendation is a starting point; you can choose another saved design.

Check names, prices, dates, claims and quotations. Correct missing or inaccurate branding before publishing.

## Review the working page

1. Open Page to review the working version, including its links and forms.
2. Check the page at desktop and mobile widths. Read all copy, including labels and messages.
3. Use Code for source edits, or request a refinement when the design itself should change.
4. Read the review result. A preview can be available while checks are still running.
5. Review the final version, then open Publish to download the files or publish when hosting is available. New Studio builds stay as drafts until you publish them.

**Your preview is a draft**

You can preview a page while Waveform is still working. When the final version is saved, review any remaining quality notes before publishing.
